Fencers show sharp performance

MEMBERS from Camden Fencing Club were back in action on Saturday when they took part in the Durham Sabre Leon Paul Competition.
The under-11s boys’ team sealed a clean sweep as William Moore, Joshua Allen and Josh Spoor won gold, silver and bronze respectively.
In the boys’ under-13s, Fabio Artesi won gold after beating Daniel Harrison from Lazio’s Fencing Club 10-8 in a thrilling final. Twin brother Gianfranco Artesi continued the medal haul with a deserved bronze medal.
Club mates Alexis Friday and Nicholas Sabharwal also put in good performances as they finished in fifth and sixth place respectively.
In a nail-biting under-15s boys’ final, Soji Aiyenuro, right, won gold after a dramatic 15-13 victory against Matthew D’agostino from Edinburgh Fencing club.
