Camden New Journal - LETTERS TO THE EDITOR
Published: 29 March 2007

Careline calling charge

I COULDN'T agree more with Blanche Mundlak (Letters, March 15). I too, would like to know why the Careline charge has gone up when we are told that a call minder centre is not only cheaper but will also improve the service.
Logically, the charge should be less. Can anyone explain?
We have become familiar with the call minder centres and their musical queue system. Imagine the scenario – the person who presses the buzzer has had a fall, his knees ache, he finds it difficult to breathe, he can’t get up, and guess what? A voice reassures him- “You are being held in a queue, blah, blah,”, followed by Vivaldi’s Four Seasons, a favourite queue service tune.
Now you are asking me why I am no longer interested in Careline?
