• I WOULD like to thank the Camden New Journal, and in particular Paul Keilthy, for the persistence they have shown over the unlawful disposal of Dorothy Robinson’s effects by Camden Council.
When she was admitted to hospital and subsequently transferred to a nursing home, she left a set of keys with a neighbour and those of us who knew her kept an eye on the flat until she was expected to return.
That is how some £2,000 was recovered and has been returned to what little remains of her estate, while we still seek her furniture.
The few Camden officials I have spoken to were non-committal and evasive. One told me he understood Mrs Robinson had died when she was in fact as alive as you can possibly in your 80s. And now there is the unseemly reluctance on the part of the council to answer calls or return messages. Another neighbour sent emails to a Conservative and a Green councillor. Neither replied.
