New End Boys celebrate their six-a-side triumph
League celebrations

FOOTBALLERS from Gospel Oak and New End Primary School were jumping for joy after being crowned champions in the Camden Schools Sports Association Six-A-Side League.
In the biggest turnout yet, 26 girls’ teams and 26 boys’ teams were divided into separate leagues, which were played at the Talacre Sports Centre in Kentish Town and the Camden Town Sports Pitch.
After 14 weeks of thrilling action, the eight teams who reached the Year 5 and 6 play-offs where quickly whittled down to just four, with New End taking on St Aloysius in the boys’ final and Gospel Oak facing Rhyl in the girls’ grand finale.
Hampstead based school New End showed great coolness under pressure as they kept their composure from the spot to beat St Aloysius on penalties.
Meanwhile two magnificent individual goals from Ardita Zeka fired Gospel Oak to victory in the girls’ final as they ran out 2-0 winners against Rhyl Primary School.
As an added bonus for the all-conquering Gospel Oak girls, five of their star players have been selected to represent Camden.
