Letters to the Editor

Station plan looks forward

• Local Labour activists and councillors in Cantelowes Ward, along with other community groups, have long campaigned for a Maiden Lane North London Line Station and safe access from this area for pedestrians and cyclists to the King's Cross development.
As a result of our efforts the developer's announced last week that they will fund a pedestrian cyclist link between Agar Grove and Camley Street.
This is a breakthrough whereby a road will be provided via the Agar Grove Estate's service lane into Camley Street, it opens the door to people living north and north west of the development to the regenerative opportunities arising from the scheme.
We are also pleased to see that as a part of the planning order the developer Argent will pay £30,000 to the council towards a feasibility study into the provision of a new Maiden Lane Station on the North London Line railway.
Cllr Dermot Greene (Lab)
Town Hall, WC1
