Isledon Wolves player Ishmail Koroma out of action for at least six weeks
Horror injury in Cup thriller

Under-13s Challenge Cup
Elite 7, Isledon Wolves 5
(aet, 4-4 full-time)

A HORRIFIC injury to midfielder Ishmail Koroma marred a magnificent cup clash on Friday as Elite Soccer and Isledon Wolves played out one of the games of the season at Market Road.
The talented 13-year-old, who has been in sensational form for Wolves this season, dislocated and broke his elbow after landing awkwardly following a collision with an Elite player just minutes into extra-time during their encounter.
A keen Liverpool fan, Ishmail, who lives in Barnsbury, was rushed to the Whittington Hospital in Archway where he underwent surgery, and has now been ruled out of action for at least six weeks.
Afterwards Ishmail revealed: “I never expected something like this to happen to me. I’m upset because I’m going to miss the rest of the season.
“But as soon as I can, I’m going to start training harder than ever so I can win my place back in the team in time for next season.”
In a thrilling game, two goals from Billy Tooey and a strike from Aiden O’Brien saw Wolves race into a 3-0 lead.
But Elite Soccer amazingly hit back to level the scores as Charlie Dunkley, Jack Keeble and Dean Daoud found the back of the net.
Elite looked to have pulled off an amazing cup victory when Dunkley scored his second of the game. But in the dying seconds O’Brien pulled Wolves level to force the game in to extra-time.
In an end to end game, Wolves again edged back in front when Enoch Ako-Adjie made it 5-4. Goals from Keeble and Charlie Adams saw the game swing back in Elite’s favour, before Koroma’s horrific injury.
When play resumed, there was just enough time for Adams to score his second of the night, sealing a thrilling 7-5 victory for Elite.
