Sporting chance
• THE proposed development of the Goals Soccer Centre in Regent’s Park has received a negative press from a few disgruntled people (Jobs threatened by park five-a-side pitches plan, March 1).
In 2 Touch runs sports development and training programmes at Regent’s Park. We deal largely with the previously disdvantaged sections of the community who do not normally have access to facilities such as those in Regent’s Park.
During the winter, at times, the park playing areas become pretty much inaccessible due to wet and potentially dangerous ground conditions. The proposed artificial surface at the Goals Soccer centre will help us to continue a year-round programme even in wet conditions.
