Camden New Journal - LETTERS TO THE EDITOR
Published: 8 March 2007

Nimbies’ revenge?

• HAVING lived in Hartland Road during the 1940s through to 1960, I read with regret that the ‘Exchange’ has become such a controversial subject (Bar owner sees the plug pulled on karaoke hopes, February 15).

The pub was a well-run business with no problems in a quiet backwater. Should we blame the advent of Camden Lock or the fact that Hartland Road is becoming “gentrified” and that neighbours’ protests are a case of “not in my backyard”?
