Ingestre stay on top

PLAYERS from Ingestre Football Club were celebrating on Saturday when they beat rivals Kilburn Grange 8-5 to remain top of the Under-17s Regent’s Park Youth League.
Hotshot Jamal Larouci was the star of the show as he netted four goals, while strike partner Kayan Kalipha hit a hat-trick. Kalem Noble was also on target for Ingestre.
The defending champions, who are based at the Ingestre Road Community Centre in Tufnell Park, have played a major part in setting up the new under-17s age category in the league, which takes place every Saturday at Regent’s Park.
Having won the under-15s championship last season, Ingestre and a host of teams from across the borough struggled to find youth leagues for players aged 15 to 18-years-old.
Deciding that they weren’t yet ready to join men’s leagues, players and managers teamed up to start their own division, building on the foundation set up by the Camden Sports Development team.
The result has proved a huge success, with scores of teams turning out to join in the fun.
