Henry warns
against Euro complacency

THIERRY Henry has warned his team-mates to stay calm after
Arsenal surprised Real Madrid in the second round on Tuesday
night.
The French striker’s magical solo goal, two minutes after
half-time, was enough to secure victory in the Bernabeu Stadium
– the first English team to do so.
But, despite the elation, Henry warned there was work to do
if Arsenal are to qualify for the quarter-finals.
He said: “We need to keep our feet on the ground and not
get carried away with this result. We all know they are a great
team and they can turn things around. As far as I am concerned
we are not there yet.”
Henry ran with the ball from near the half-way line, evading
three challenges, before firing past Iker Casillas.
It proved the only goal of an exciting contest and the teams’
first-ever competitive meeting.
Arsenal, unbeaten in Europe this season, might have been ahead
inside the first two minutes had Casillas not palmed away Jose
Reyes’ angled drive.
Henry bounced a header wide and swung a wild free-kick over
the bar.
The best chances for Real fell to David Beckham but the England
captain was twice frustrated by Jens Lehmann.
In the second half, Freddie Ljungberg dragged a shot wide while
Raul flicked a header over the bar. There was a nervous moment
late on when Zinedine Zidane swung at a swerving cross but the
ball was beyond him.
