Minis parked in West Heath Road
Italian Job Minis bag best spots

ESTATE agent Foxtons aimed to re-create the cheeky image of the classic Michael Caine movie The Italian Job when it gave staff matching Minis in loud colours.
But the Minis driven by staff at its branch in Heath Street, Hampstead, have angered residents in West Heath Road, where they are parked nose-to-tail in ranks up to 15 to avoid parking restrictions.
Residents complained that they – and Heath users – are being frozen out of parking spaces in the leafy street by the estate agents, who arrive at 8.30am, move their cars for a two-hour lunchtime period when parking charges apply, then return in the afternoon.
Design consultant Andrew Usiskin, 59, of Reddington Road, said: “Foxtons’ drivers frequently ignore the rights of residents by double parking. They appear to have no regard for local people and the environment and the designs on their cars are horrible.
“I can’t stand to have to look at them every day when I walk to work.”
Charges were introduced at Heath car parks last year to prevent commuters filling the spaces but West Heath Road parking is controlled by Camden Council.
A Town Hall press official said: “The residents were consulted when the current parking measures were put in place and were happy with them. If there is now a significant number who are unhappy we can look at the parking restictions again.”
Foxtons refused to comment.
