Camden New Journal - by CHARLOTTE CHAMBERS and ROISIN GADELRAB
Published: 22 February 2007

Who do you want to see on Camden’s Walk of Fame?

MUSIC Moguls from some of the world’s largest music establishments including Mean Fiddler and MTV have renewed their appeal to residents to help shape a Hollywood-style Walk of Fame in Camden.
The Sunset Boulevard-inspired homage will honour musicians and venues who have contributed to Camden’s international reputation as a breeding ground for British artists, as well as stars who have brought their talents to the borough from far and wide.
Big names in the music biz have drawn up a list of potential contenders to be immortalised in the first set of plaques or paving stones across Camden, suggesting Madness, who launched their careers from Parkway’s Dublin Castle, Bill Fuller, who founded the Electric Ballroom and Elton John, who wrote ‘Your Song’ in Denmark Street, Bloomsbury.
New Journal readers are being asked to email their thoughts on the scheme.
Other names in the mix include Madonna, Lily Savage, who established his drag career at the Black Cap, Oasis, who lived in a squat in Agar Grove before moving to Supernova Heights and Blur, who used to drink in the Good Mixer. Opinions can be sent to
