Alarms are awful
• OH, how I welcomed last week’s letter ‘Alarms are too much’. As a writer, I work at home and for months now I have been unable to open a window due to the recurring sound of alarms.
The other day, at my wits’ end, I was determined to track the noise down and discovered that it was coming from the equipment being used on the flats in Adelaide Road – and I live three streets away! Surely it is not necessary to disturb everyone in this way for miles around?
