Camden New Journal - LETTERS TO THE EDITOR
Published: 22 February 2007

Why no apology?

• WHAT would we do without the investigative reporting of the CNJ?
The allegations of the widespread theft of property of those who leave their council flats and houses seem not to interest our new political masters.

They seem merely to have set up an “internal investigation” into the case of the elderly Gospel Oak resident, but one of some possible 1,200 cases per year.
Has the council written to the grandson in this case to apologise and offer compensation?  Have the police been called in? We do not seem to have had any public statement of regret from any council member.
