Concerns over Ken’s budget

• I WOULD like to express my deep concern regarding the process for the setting of the Greater London Authority budget.
As a member of Camden’s Resources and Corporate Performance Scrutiny Committee, I have been involved in scrutinising the budget which the executive have passed, this has been a lengthy and involved process. So why is it that when it comes to the Mayor’s budget, Ken Livingston has decided we need only a month to review the budget he is proposing, a budget that will cost Camden’s taxpayers an extra 5.3 per cent?
We have yet to be given any clear detail as to where this money is going to be spent with the Mayor preferring to provide only the top level figures.
