Youngsters net glory on court

SHUTTLECOCK smashing youngsters will set out to net glory in the Camden Schools Sports Federation Badminton Championships tonight (Thursday) at William Ellis School in Highgate.
Secondary school teams from across the borough are gearing up to battle it out for top honours in the Year 9 competition after getting court up in the action.
The after-school competition has proved a huge success as fans of the sport take up the chance to learn new skills and the latest rules of the game.
In the previous round, it was the Year 8 teams who served up a titanic tourney. After a series of intense matches, sides from South Camden Community School and Camden School for Girls were crowned champs.
They will now join victorious teams from Hampstead School in Westbere Road and Parliament Hill School in Highgate in the winners’ circle after they won the opening Year 7 competition.
