Globe spin out Phoenix

DOUBLE chasing Globetown booked their place in the semi-final of the New Journal Challenge Cup on Sunday with a 2-1 win over Phoenix at Hackney Marshes.
Cup holders Globetown took the lead midway through the first half courtesy of Peter Walsh.
Phoenix hit back on the stroke of half time to level the scores. But man of the match Walsh scored his second of the game in the final minutes to ensure Globetown a place in the final four of the competition.
In Division One, RD Athletic came from a goal down to beat Archway Allstars in a seven-goal thriller.
An own goal from Jayson Branigan gave Archway the lead, but Athletic hit back with goals from Darren Dowdie, Ahmed Mohammed, Martin Lovejoy and Paul Reid.
Allstars fought back to set up a nervous finale, but couldn’t stop Athletic running out 4-3 winners. In the Second Division Broad Lane beat Desportivo 9-1.
