Camden New Journal - LETTERS TO THE EDITOR
Published:25 January 2007

Hall’s heroes

NOW Lyndhurst Hall has been demolished I thought you might like my little story.
I was born in St Pancras and I’ve always been interested in the area. I am indebted to you when I go to St Alban’s Library and on the web find the news from the Camden New Journal.
I lived in Carlton Street, now Weedington Road from 1932, and went to Lyndhurst Hall. It was part of our lives those days.
I went to Sunday school, the Life Boys and Boys Brigade, there was a bagpipe band, we had a good time camping.
Forty-four men died in the Great War from Lyndhurst Hall and there were two memorials. Would it be possible please to find out where they went?
I hope they were put somewhere safe. I have all their names and researched most of them.
DOUG HARRIS
St Albans, Hertfordshire
