Town keep up pressure

Spartan South Midlands League

Division One
Kentish Town 3
Cranfield United 1

TITLE-chasing Town continued their fine run of form on Saturday with victory over Cranfield United.
With United stranded at the bottom of the table having taken just one point from 17 games, Town were expected to cruise to a comprehensive victory.
But just 11 minutes into the game, the visitors took a surprise lead when Damien McGlue unleashed a rasping 25-yard shot, leaving keeper Paul Williamson with no chance.
The goal sparked Town into life, with leading scorer Lee Scott pulling the scores level midway through the half.
The home side left it late before completing their comeback, Scott edging Town in front with his second of the game.
A last-gasp penalty allowed Scott to completed his hat-trick in the final seconds of the game, leaving Town just five points behind league leaders Cockfosters with a game in hand.
