Goal feast sees in the new year

THERE was a feast of goals over the weekend as scores of talented footballers returned to Market Road to kick-off the new-year action in the Camden and Islington Youth League.

Under 10s A League

GOALS from Charles Prince and Jack Maguire saw leaders Hampstead continue their unbeaten start to the season with a 2-0 victory over Islington Admiral Hawks.
St Pancras are just four points behind Hampstead following their impressive
4-1 win over Westway.
George Yianni opened the scoring when he curled his shot around three defenders and past a stationary keeper to net the only goal of the first half.
The Saints doubled their lead courtesy of a 25-yard screamer from Connor Alloway.
But Westway quickly pulled a goal back to put
St Pancras back under pressure. Alfie Francis restored the Saints two-goal cushion, before Jack Smith completed the rout.
Peel made a bright start to their new year despite suffering defeat in their game against Brunswick on Friday.
Brendon Alebiosu fired Peel ahead with his fourth goal in three games before Ritchie Lokumbo added a second just before the break.
Brunswick hit back in the second half with three unanswered goals to take a dramatic lead with an unlikely comeback.
Peel were denied a deserved share of the spoils late on when they mounted a late rally, which saw them hit the crossbar in a 3-2 defeat.

Under 11s A League

HAT-trick hero Jason Williams fired EC1 Elite to a resounding victory over FDS.

Third place Elite opened the scoring within the opening minute of the match when FDS old boy Billy Stewart netted against his former club.
Joe Walker and Billy Bagot were also on target as Elite ran out 6-0 winners.
A strike from Jay Oliver three minutes from time earned St Pancras a narrow 1-0 win over a struggling Hampstead Tigers side.

Under 11s B League

SOCCERSCOOL returned to the top of the table with a hard-fought victory over Crown and Manor.
Despite going a goal down, the league leaders battled back to equalise thanks to a strike from Elliot Chamberlain.
Zachary Stroman gave Soccerscool the lead, before Elliot increased their advantage with his second of the game.
In a fast-paced encounter, Stroman went on to score his second as Soccerscool sealed a thrilling 4-2 win.

Under 12s B League

THE Saints overcame a stubborn Paradise Panthers side on Friday to seal a thrilling 3-2 victory.
New signing Wole Eollo made a stunning debut as he fired St Pancras into a
2-0 lead.
The Panthers pulled a goal back through captain Aaron Pedro. But Ryan Goodheart soon restored the Saints two-goal advantage when he stormed down the left wing, cut inside and riffled home from the edge of the area.
Paradise didn’t give up hope, and set up a tense finale when Pedro scored his second of the game.

London Cup

ST PANCRAS survived a dreaded penalty shoot-out to book their place in the semi-finals of the London Cup on Sunday with a dramatic win over Glebe.
Trailing 1-0 early on, the under-10s outfit drew level on the stroke of half time when Alfie Moir headed home a rebound after George Yianni’s long-range effort was pushed onto the bar.
The game remained level after 90 minutes and extra-time forcing penalties. Taofiq Olomowewe, Jack Smith and Yianni all scored from the spot to seal a 3-2 win for St Pancras, who also had goalkeeper Gustavo Orozco to thank after he pulled off two penalty saves.
