Making a racquet at badminton tourney

First Federation Badminton Championship a huge hit

YOUNGSTERS from across the borough made a racquet at Haverstock School in Chalk Farm on Tuesday as they turned out for the first ever Federation Badminton Championships.
Organised by the Camden Secondary Schools Federation, the day-long tournament proved a huge success as 10 teams from across Camden battled it out for top honours.
The after-school competition gave the promising 11-year-olds the perfect chance to show-off their talents and learn the latest rules and etiquette of the game.
Teams were then given the chance to try out their new skills in a series of tough and challenging matches.
At the end of the smashing shuttlecock action, teams from Hampstead School in Westbere Road and Parliament Hill School in Highgate netted glory as they were crowned court champions.
