Camden New Journal - LETTERS TO THE EDITOR
Published:11 January 2007

Do you remember blind John Stokes?

Blind John Stokes:
Can anyone help me trace John Stokes – a blind man last heard of in the Kentish Town area in the 1970s or 1980s.
My mother, Joyce Johnson, lost touch with John – her cousin – when he was sent as a boy to the East Grinstead Sunshine School for the Blind in the late 1930s.
His parents were George and Nell Stokes. Their family originated in the Essex Road area of Islington, but circumstances split them up.
My mother is keen to contact John, who would now be in his mid to late 70s. Any information would be welcomed – please send it to me on ritabandele@yahoo.co.uk or phone me on 01727 761581.
