Camden New Journal - LETTERS TO THE EDITOR
Published:11 January 2007

No to extended bus route

I WRITE to voice my opposition to the proposed extension of the 393 bus route. My reasons are narrow residential roads, added pollution, danger to cyclists and loss of privacy
The leaflet posted as part of the consultation was sent in a fairly nondescript envelope, with a small logo.
Estate agents in this area send a large volume of unsolicited correspondence in similar envelopes on a regular basis, and I for one have become immune to letters that are not personally addressed to me, discarding them without opening.
I appreciate that it might be a large administrative task to individually address envelopes. However I think that in the interest of transparency, the exterior of the envelope should have clearly and boldly marked reference to its content.
I am opposed to the proposed extension because I do not believe that there is a legitimate need for it. Kentish Town is well serviced by bus routes and it is the miserable Northern line that requires serious attention.
