Thank you for all your hamper cash
CHRISTMAS was a little brighter for some of the most needy in the borough again – thanks to the overwhelming generosity of New Journal readers.
So many of you dipped your hands in your pockets for the 2006 New Journal hamper fund that we were able to distribute 300 well-stocked Marks and Spencer hampers to those most in need.
From market traders at Camden Town like Peter Johnston who raised more than £1,000 to residents of Flask Walk who donated the proceeds of their raffle to us and the flood of individual donations we received, this year’s appeal was bigger than ever.
So, a big thank you to everyone who helped and a special thanks once again to staff and managers at Marks and Spencer’s in Camden Town for putting the hampers together and to everyone at the Oxford Arms who raised a record-breaking £1,700 for the appeal.
